Update note
The story follows Saya Kisaragi, an outwardly ordinary high school student who is the daughter of a shrine keeper. She wields a katana and is tasked with protecting her village from monstrous beings known as Elder Bairns. As Saya confronts these creatures, she begins to uncover inconsistencies in her seemingly peaceful daily life and the true nature of her existence.
