The manga series Slam Dunk by Takehiko Inoue is a completed work consisting of 31 volumes. It was originally serialized from 1990 to 1996. The story centers on Hanamichi Sakuragi, a high school student who joins the basketball team to impress a girl, and follows his development as a player and the team’s growth. The series is widely recognized for its detailed artwork and realistic portrayal of basketball. A sequel one-shot chapter was released in 2018, and a new animated film, The First Slam Dunk, premiered in 2022.
